Parrot MKi 9200 kits are supplied with a Dual Phone option allowing you to connect two phones at the same time. This is ideal if you have a business and personal phone and wish to be available on both. Turning on Dual Phone is easy, and so is switching to the second one. This new upgrade means the superb MKi Parrot kits are now even better, allowing you to easily make and receive calls from the phone of your choice.
New Parrot MKi 9200 Car Kits
All new Parrot MKi 9200 car kits are now supplied with "Dual Phone". This is the same as the term "Multipoint" used by other manufacturers, and a facility provided via a software update that comes pre-installed.
Dual phone allows you to make two Bluetooth connections, at the same time. You can then answer from both, as well as make calls from either with the switch function.
Turning on Dual Phone
This function is not active straight out of the box, but it is very easy to reset the default mode. To turn it on go to:
Settings > Bluetooth > Dual Mode
When this has been set, the Parrot MKi 9200 will seamlessly connect to the two devices with the oldest pairing.
Setting Main Phone on the Parrot MKI 9200
Once a Bluetooth connection is made the main phone details are shown on the screen. These include cell battery power, reception strength, and call details if making a call. If you make a call through the kit, this is also done through the main phone.
Setting a device as your main phone on the Parrot MKi 9200 is achieved by setting a paired device to "Preferred Phone". To set this go to:
Settings > Bluetooth > Paired Devices > (select the phone) > Check 'Preferred Phone' Option
Your preferred device automatically becomes your main phone, and allows you to reset priority as and when it is needed.
Easy Switching
On starting your car the hands free kit will search and connect to your main device. With Dual Phone the Parrot MKi 9200 will also connect to a second device. It will continue to search through the list of paired devices, starting with the oldest pairing, until it finds one within range.
Switching between the two bluetooth connected phones is easy. Simply press and hold the red button for two seconds. Your second device now becomes your main phone, showing it's details on the screen. Any calls made after switching will be made through the new main phone.
